Objective
– Overseas Scholarship to pursue Post Graduate and Research courses
– It aims to remove financial barriers, empowering marginalized students to pursue world-class education and develop international, professional skills.
Eligibility And Criteria
– The Annal Ambedkar Overseas Scholarship for Higher Education in Tamil Nadu was launched for the 2021–2022
– Scholarship up to 36 lakh covering tuition fees, living expenses, visa fees, medical insurance, airfare, equipment allowance, and taxes.
– Scholarship upto Rs 36 lakh if annual family income is below Rs 8 lakh and scholarship upto Rs 24 lakh if the annual family income between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
– belonging to Adi Dravidar (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Adi Dravidar converted to Christian community
– The students should be enrolled in Universities of rank of up to 1000 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University rankings
– Graduate students must be under 35 years of age and full-time doctoral research students must be under 40 years of age on the first day of April (1st April) of the year of applying for scholarship.
– An allocation of Rs.8.94 crore has been made for the implementation of this scheme in the financial year 2024-2025.
– Budget 2025-26: ₹65 crore allocated
– 174 students awarded in the 2024–2025 cycle
