1. Sainik School In UP To Be Renamed After General Bipin Rawat 

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to rename the Sainik School at Mainpuri after first Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat who died in a chopper crash last month.

2. PM chose Puducherry as host of National Youth Festival 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the five-day National Youth Festival in Puducherry on January 12.

Youth from across the country will showcase their culture and talents. People can learn and share several things from the event

3. International Yoga academy 

The Union Ayush Minster Shri Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for the Heartfulness International Yoga academy today at Hyderabad.

The Academy will set new benchmarks in yoga training.

The Heartfulness International Yoga Academy comprises Yoga halls that can accommodate 100 Yoga students in each hall, therapeutic Yoga rooms for consultation, one to one training spaces or small group classes; pre-natal Yoga rooms etc.

4. Himachal Pradesh became 1st LPG enabled & smoke free state of the country 

Himachal Pradesh became the first LPG enables, also, smoke-free state. This milestone was achieved due to the Ujjwala Scheme and Grahini Suvidha Yojana by Centre.

5. The Kerala High Court is all set to become India’s first paperless court. 

The Kerala High Court has initiated its pride project called the Virtual Office on January 1st, 2022 with the features of e-filing, paperless courts and e-office.

This means that the filing of cases in the High Court will now be through electronic mode.

With respect to civil cases/petitions which require presentation in person, the petitioner shall present the physical copy of the e-filed petition in person, in compliance with the statutory provisions.

7. ‘Mother of orphans’ Sindhutai Sapkal laid to rest  

Eminent social worker and Padma Shri awardee Sindhutai Sapkal, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 73, and who was renowned for her tireless work among orphaned children, was laid to rest .

She adopted and cared for more than 1,000 orphaned children in this orphanage

Sapkal was feted with more than 700 awards for her work, including the Padma Shri in 2021.

10.CSIR-NPL celebrates its 75th Foundation Day 

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR) -National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL) .

As a beginning of the Platinum Jubilee year and to commemorate this special day as its NPL Foundation Day Celebrations, CSIR-NPL organised a National Metrology Conclave under the theme ‘Metrology for the Inclusive Growth of the Nation’.

The theme of the conclave was ‘Metrology for the Inclusive Growth of the Nation’.
